Tired of guessing how much to spend on Facebook vs. Google vs. everything else? Let ChatGPT do the heavy lifting—for free.
Most small businesses know they should be advertising, but they don’t know where to start—or how to split their budget. So they throw $100 at boosted posts and hope for the best.
Here’s a better way.
What if ChatGPT could build your monthly ad plan… in 30 seconds?
With one well-written prompt, you can get:
A percentage breakdown by platform (Google, Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
Recommendations based on your goals (leads, traffic, sales)
Platform suggestions based on where your audience hangs out
Bonus tips for campaign types (retargeting, cold ads, branded search)
And it works whether you’re spending $250/month or $2,500/month.
👇 Start here: Define your goal
Before we touch the keyboard, you must define your goal.
Are you trying to:
Get more people to request a quote?
Drive traffic to a landing page?
Retarget past website visitors?
Promote a seasonal offer?
If you don’t know your goal, ChatGPT won’t either. And without a goal, an ad is just a shot in the dark.
What ChatGPT will do for you
Once you’ve clarified your goal and your monthly budget, ChatGPT will:
Recommend a percentage breakdown across platforms
Suggest platforms based on where your audience is (we’ve covered this in past blogs)
Offer campaign types that fit your goals
Bonus: If you ask it to, it can suggest follow-up actions (like ad headlines or landing page ideas—see Blog 2 for that)
Copy + Paste Prompt
Here’s a prompt you can copy and tweak for your business:
Prompt:“I run a [type of business] and want to spend around [$X/month] on advertising. My main goal is [your goal—e.g., generate leads].Where should I advertise? Break down my budget by platform in percentages, and give me 1–2 sentence explanations for each recommendation.Focus on simple, proven channels. I’m not very tech-savvy, so keep it beginner-friendly. Then suggest a campaign idea or type for each platform.”
Example Output
Business: Local kitchen remodeler Goal: Get people to request quotes Budget: $1,000/month ChatGPT might say: Facebook/Instagram (40%) – Great for targeting homeowners with visual before/after content. Use lead forms or Messenger. Google Ads (40%) – Capture people already searching for kitchen remodelers. Use branded and location-specific keywords. YouTube (10%) – Share short testimonial clips or project walk-throughs. Retargeting (10%) – Use on Facebook and Google to follow up with visitors who didn’t convert.
(Notice how you still get dollar clarity: $400 here, $400 there, etc.)
